On November 7th, 2014, municipal law attorney, Bill Punkoney, presented at the Idaho State Fire Commissioners’ Association in Pocatello, Idaho. Bill presented valuable information to Board Commissioners, Fire District Secretaries and Fire Staff Professionals entitled Proactive Policy and Legal Solutions for Idaho Fire Districts.
Bill’s presentation covered the following topics: fire district policy code models, budget management and preparation, property acquisition and surplus, social media and internet use by first responders, acquisition and provision of new services and regulation of the sale and public display of fireworks.
Bill serves as the primary attorney for the Nampa Fire Protection District and also assists with legal counseling for cities, school districts, fire districts and irrigation districts represented by White Peterson. Bill is particularly knowledgeable in matters relating to public policy and administrative law, having served in the Governor’s office prior to his arrival to White Peterson and is fluent in Spanish.
